Our children looked forward to November 14 with great excitement and expectation. In preparation for this year’s Children’s Day, which coincides with the birthday of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, as many as 42 competitions were organized throughout the month of October.
A grand function was held to mark the occasion. Sr. Daisy, Principal of Bon Secours College, Veppadai, was the Chief Guest for the event. The celebration began with the flag hoisting by the Chief Guest, followed by the National Anthem.
Nearly 500 prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners of the various competitions. The entire programme was organized by the teachers, who also presented two cultural performances much to the delight of the children, adding to the fun and festive spirit of the day.
The Chief Guest inspired the students with several anecdotes and real-life incidents, sharing how she rose in life through hard work and perseverance, despite not being a top student during her school days.
