Annual Sports Meet

The 25th Annual Sports Meet of the Montfort Community Tribal School was held on September 14, 2025 with great enthusiasm, commitment and participation by

all. Thiru. S. Annadurai CLS, the Director, Tribal Welfare Department, Govt. of Tamil Nadu, was the Chief Guest of the occasion and presided over the proceedings.

The school grounds came alive with energy and excitement as our young athletes showcased their talents and tenacity in various track and field events along with the various displays. The programme started with the arrival of the Chief Guest Thiru. S. Annadurai. His presence added to the solemnity and grandeur of the occasion. This was followed by the guard of honour to the Chief Guest and his inspection of the Athletes numbering 486, who participated in the delightful march past which kept the audience spellbound. Later, the Chief Guest added that the march past was as good as those by the Armed Forces on ceremonial occasions. A large crowd, comprising mostly of proud parents and members of the public, cheered wholeheartedly as their children competed with zeal and resilience, clinching Gold, Silver and Bronze for the various athletic events

A special highlight of the day was the ‘Malcom (ky;yH fk;gk;)’ performance by the daredevils of the school (boys and girls). Their performance was much appreciated by the Chief Guest and the entire audience. Their courage, coordination and precision received repeated loud applauses.

The ‘drill displays’ by the different categories of students, were a visual treat that added colour and rhythm to the celebration. The pyramid formations showcased remarkable teamwork of our senior students. The ‘Silambam’ by our juniors reflected cultural pride and martial arts prowess of Tamil Nadu, capturing the attention and admiration of the large crowd.

Students who won the championship in various categories were honoured by the Chief Guest. The coveted march past trophy was carried away by Cheran House along with the NCC Cadets. The Overall Championship Trophy was proudly lifted by Cheran House, repeating their consistent performance and team spirit throughout the day.

In his address, Thiru. Annadurai praised the school for its outstanding organization of the Sports Meet and the all-round excellent performance by the students. The Chief Guest said that he was thrilled by the entire events, adding that one has to invent a new word to describe the quality of the Silver Jubilee Sports Meet of Montfort Community Tribal School. He appreciated the various performances by our students and also placed on record the fact that

all the students of the school actively took part in this grand Sports Day event without anyone being left out. He further acknowledged the efforts of the Principal Rev. Dr. Bro. George KJ, along with the Brothers and teachers, in supporting the upliftment initiatives of the tribals for the last 25 years. He pleaded with the parents that they should give priority for the education of their children particularly the girls. He opined that educating a girl is to uplift the entire family and thus society and the Nation at large.

The memorable event concluded with the National Anthem, leaving the crowd immersed in memories of an unforgettable and inspiring celebration of sportsmanship of their children for quest and excellence.
